- Technique: Teal green, pale blue and white glazes are spray-applied to create a three-color gradient.
- Craft challenge: Firing temperature must be carefully controlled so all three glazes develop their intended colors. The application is also controlled to keep the transitions between colors soft and natural.
- Design inspiration: The palette recalls the tranquil meeting of lake and sky, with teal green for deep water, pale blue for the sky and white for morning mist and clouds.
- Finish: High-fired colored glaze. Small variations in the handmade finish make each piece individual.
Materials
Porcelain made from an exclusive kaolin blend sourced from Hunan, Jiangxi and Guangdong, China. The blend is formulated for the functional requirements of each cup design. The porcelain body is fired at 1,220°C or higher. Teal green, pale blue and white high-temperature glazes are spray-applied to form a three-color gradient, with firing temperature controlled for color development.
