CCCLAY Product Care: Dishwasher Safety and Cleaning

CCCLAY ceramic cups are dishwasher safe unless they have natural lacquer (urushi) or precious-metal decoration, including gold or silver rims. Hand wash these special finishes and follow their product-specific care instructions.

Dishwasher-safe ceramic cups

• CCCLAY ceramic cups without natural lacquer or precious-metal decoration can be cleaned in a dishwasher.
• The porcelain body and glazes made from natural mineral raw materials are fired at 1,220°C or higher, forming a durable glazed surface with a glossy or matte finish.
• This care guidance applies to CCCLAY ceramic cups; follow the separate instructions supplied with products made from other materials.

Special finishes: hand wash only

• Natural lacquer (urushi) pieces: hand wash and follow the care instructions for that finish.
• Precious-metal decoration, including gold or silver rims and relevant hand-painted editions: hand wash and follow the product-specific instructions.
• If the finish on your piece is unclear, send its product name or a photograph to hello@ccclaycoffee.com before choosing a cleaning method.

Cleaning and drying

• Use a soft cloth for cleaning and drying.
• Do not use steel wool, abrasive scouring pads or other tools that may scratch the surface.
• Use the instructions for the actual finish on your piece when treating stains; do not assume a treatment suitable for ordinary ceramic glaze is suitable for lacquer or precious-metal decoration.
