- Design inspiration: The expansive blue-to-purple gradient gives visual form to the Chinese expression Zi Qi Dong Lai (紫气东来), evoking auspicious purple clouds arriving from the east.
- Finish: High-fired colored glaze. Small variations in the handmade finish make each piece individual.
Materials
Porcelain made from an exclusive kaolin blend sourced from Hunan, Jiangxi and Guangdong, China. The blend is formulated for the functional requirements of each cup design. The porcelain body is fired at 1,220°C or higher. The blue and purple high-temperature glazes are matched for their firing response and spray-applied to form a soft gradient.
